How long have you been in business?

Experience is a factor of length of time in business. The longer the better, since the longevity of a company is an indication of its reliability.

Intex has been in business since 1981.

How do you select your language translation professionals?

A reliable agency will select its language professionals by carefully reviewing resumes, looking for the following factors:
A. University or equivalent degree
B. Language related education
C Industry-specific professional experience
D. Number of years as translator/interpreter
E. Verifiable references
F. Sample translations
G. Accreditations

For our own criteria of selection, refer to our Second to None Quality™ hallmark.

How do you insure accuracy and quality of language services?

Are translations performed by MT (machine translation) or by a seasoned linguist? Are translations reviewed by an editor? Do you compile glossaries to insure terminology consistency? Are translations proofed again by a language professional once they have been formatted? How many checks and reviews are implemented before you receive the translation?

Even with the best CAT (computer-assisted translation) technologies available, good translation is the product of human endeavor. And like all human endeavors, it’s prone to error. Intex’s foolproof quality assurance procedures have been designed to yield translations with the highest exacting accuracy standards. For a description of our procedures, click here.

Are your language professionals in-house or outside vendors?

This will help you determine the size of the translation agency, which may be of critical importance for large-scale projects. Some simple projects like the translation of a birth certificate may be adequately handled by a mom and pop operation, but large and complex assignments require larger infrastructure and internal resources. In-house language professionals and formatters are testimony to the volume of work managed by these agencies, justifying the expense to have this staff on their payroll.

In addition, having such in-house resources insures that the agency will not cut corners by skipping on the expenses of a stringent quality control as the staff is readily available. Last but not least, in-house resources vouch for a tighter control of the production and quality processes.

Intex boasts expert in-house linguists in Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Korean, Laotian, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese plus a flourishing graphic division with a production team of experienced formatters and website designers.

Who are your clients, and can you supply references?

Ask for a copy of the client list and references, at least three names of clients with direct experience with that agency.

Through its undivided commitment to customer satisfaction, Intex is proud to have secured the loyalty of over 400 clients, which account for over 80% of its business.

Intex’s prestigious roster of clients matches the wide array of industries it services, covering the full spectrum of the working world, from blue chip corporations, to government agencies, not-for profit institutions, mid-size and small businesses. To know what our clients think of our services, you can read some of their testimonials.

What is your related experience in our industry?

A good indication of expertise is to receive samples of material closely related to the assignment under consideration. For large-size assignments, agencies shouldn’t shy away from providing you with the resumes of the language professionals considered for the assignment. If you have reliable and qualified in-house resources to assess the quality of the translation, we encourage you to test all potential vendors prior to awarding the bid.

Do you guarantee that your translations are certified to be accepted by official agencies?

Some local, state, federal and non-governmental agencies, as well as foreign governments may also request “certified” translation of your personal records (for instance, documentation needed for immigration purposes, school transcripts for equivalency assessment, immunization records for traveling visas, etc.). This kind of translation doesn’t need to be performed by a court-certified translator. However, it needs to be translated by a bona fide qualified professional translator.

Intex provides "certified" translations in all languages, and appends a notarized certificate to the translation testifying to the veracity of the translation.

We also provide certified translation accepted as court document and/or registrar records in all the languages and jurisdictions for which the Judicial Council mandates certification credentials.

What are your technical capabilities?

Ask about available hardware, software and communications capabilities to insure that your needs will be satisfied.

With an extensive library of DTP and web publishing applications, immediate internet connection through T1 carrier and large size file posting through our ftp site, top-rated TM software, unique proprietary Translation Management tools (T-LinkTM), and state-of-the art recording studios and interpreting equipment, Intex is constantly designing and upgrading its resources to the best-of-breed technologies.
