CORPORATE PROFILE

INTEX has been in business since 1981, and is incorporated in the State of California. The company's initial mission statement was to promote and facilitate trade relations between Europe and the U.S. Intex offered language services to European companies interested in starting business ventures in the U.S. During the company's first year of operation, the trade relations side of the venture failed to materialize; yet, through the stewardship of Intex’s original owner, Mrs. Manouche Ragsdale, the company obtained a small number of translation contracts.

In 1983, a substantial translation contract was obtained from Lockheed Martin, grossing $90,000 for the corporation. This contract work helped orient Intex as a company whose sole activity became translation & interpretation.

Over the years, Intex added other services such as desktop publishing, and consecutive and conference interpretation. Due to our geographical location in Los Angeles, California, in the heart of the entertainment industry, and given the wide pool of professional voice-over talents available, the audiovisual business soon grew to become a significant part of the company's overall revenue.

In July 2001, Intex entered the big league of translation agencies as a new affiliate of CTS LanguageLink, one of the Fastest Growing Private Companies in the Pacific Northwest (Puget Sound Business Journal, October 18, 2002). In order to continue the tradition of excellence which had contributed to the success of our agency, key staff and management were kept in place.

This acquisition by a major player in the industry enabled the boutique agency to take on large-scale projects and offer new services (such as telephonic interpretation and online publishing) at highly competitive rates, as it was able to draw on the state-of-the-art technological and human resources of its parent company.

Today, Intex boasts expert in-house linguists in Spanish, French, Chinese, German, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Laotian and Vietnamese, as well as a flourishing graphic division with a production team of experienced formatters and website designers.
